Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a qualified Metallurgist to work with Auto customers to meet specifications while optimizing production processes for new products. Responsibilities include leading new product launches, applying metallurgical principles, and collaborating cross-functionally to improve product quality.

Ideal candidates will have a degree in Metallurgy or related fields, 5+ years in aluminum sheet production, and a thorough understanding of industry standards. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Automotive aluminum sheet production.
• Thorough knowledge of Auto industry material standards - SAE, ASTM, ISO, etc.
• Working knowledge of Quality Systems IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 17025, etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead New Product Launches and qualification trials from contract award to completion.
• Identify and implement Auto product improvement opportunities based on customer feedback.
• Contribute to product & process knowledge management systems.
