Job summary

Mavis Tires & Brakes at Discount Prices in the Ridgewood, NJ area is hiring a full-time Automotive Alignment Technician to join Team Mavis at one of our state-of-the-art automotive service and tire sales centers.

Technicians use the latest equipment to align tires and wheels, measuring caster, camber, toe and thrust angles, and perform inspections, oil/filters changes, and flat repairs. The job requires standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds and a commitment to high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Possess 1 year of experience and/or training in dismounting, mounting, rotating and balancing tires or equivalent experience.
• In addition, preferred: state inspection license.

Responsibilities

• Align tires and wheels using the latest equipment; measure and adjust caster, camber, toe and thrust angles.
• Complete state-mandated inspections, oil and filter changes, and flat repairs; perform other required automotive service or vehicle repairs.
• Stand, walk, bend, squat, lift up to 50 pounds, and work safely in a fast-paced service environment.

About the Position of Automotive Alignment Technician

Automotive Alignment technicians use the latest equipment to align newly-mounted tires and wheels on customer's vehicles. By measuring and adjusting caster, camber, toe and thrust angles, our Automotive Alignment Technicians reduce customer's tire wear and ensure serviced vehicles travel straight and true. Mavis's Alignment Technicians also complete state-mandated inspections, oil and filter changes and flat repairs, and perform any other required automotive service or vehicle repairs to customer vehicles.

Qualifications

• be at least 18 years of age

• possess 1 year of experience and/or training in dismounting, mounting, rotating and balancing tires or any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position
• In addition, it is preferred that Alignment Technicians possess a state inspection license.

As an active position, Automotive Alignment Technicians are required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach and perform repeated and repetitive movements consistent with vehicle and tire maintenance and repair. Alignment Technicians must regularly lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds.
