Job summary

Mavis Tires & Brakes at Discount Prices is hiring a full-time Automotive Alignment Technician for our center in the Rensselaer, NY area. You will use advanced equipment to align tires and wheels, and perform related maintenance tasks including inspections and repairs.

Qualified candidates are 18+, legally eligible to work in the United States, and have 1 year of relevant experience or training. A state inspection license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with tire mounting and balancing is preferred.
• Ability to perform alignment work using standard equipment.
• State inspection license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Align tires and wheels using the latest equipment to ensure proper ride quality.
• Measure and adjust caster, camber, toe, and thrust to correct alignment.
• Perform oil/filter changes and flat repairs as required.
• Complete state-mandated inspections and other automotive service tasks as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow company policies.

About the Position of Automotive Alignment Technician

Automotive Alignment technicians use the latest equipment to align newly-mounted tires and wheels on customer's vehicles. By measuring and adjusting caster, camber, toe and thrust angles, our Automotive Alignment Technicians reduce customer's tire wear and ensure serviced vehicles travel straight and true. Mavis's Alignment Technicians also complete state-mandated inspections, oil and filter changes and flat repairs, and perform any other required automotive service or vehicle repairs to customer vehicles.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the position of Automotive Alignment Technicians you must (1) be at least 18 years of age; (2) be legally authorized to work in the United States; and (3) possess 1 year of experience and/or training in dismounting, mounting, rotating and balancing tires or any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. In addition, it is preferred that Alignment Technicians possess a state inspection license.

As an active position, Automotive Alignment Technicians are required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach and perform repeated and repetitive movements consistent with vehicle and tire maintenance and repair. Alignment Technicians must regularly lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds.
