Job summary

TOOLES SAN CARLOS seeks an A-Level Automotive Technician with elite diagnostic, electrical, mechanical, and computer systems expertise to diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues across gas, diesel, hybrid, ADAS, and autonomous platforms.

The role offers clear advancement into Master Technician, Diesel Specialist, Hybrid/EV Specialist, and Foreman roles, with additional hourly pay for each specialization. Training and ongoing certification support are provided.

Qualifications

• ASE Master Certified preferred.
• High-level diagnostic and electrical expertise required.
• Strong mechanical and/or fabrication skills needed.
• Ability to work independently on complex repairs and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and computer system failures.
• Utilize and train others on advanced scan tools and diagnostic platforms.
• Program vehicle control modules (ECU, TCM, BCM) using OEM and aftermarket tools.
• Diagnose faults using oscilloscopes and thermal imaging (FLIR).
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.

We are hiring an A-Level Automotive Technician with elite diagnostic, electrical, mechanical, and computer systems expertise. This role is for a top-tier technician who can diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues across modern platforms including gas, diesel, hybrid, ADAS, and autonomous systems.

This position offers clear advancement opportunities into Master Technician, Diesel Specialist, Hybrid/EV Specialist, and Foreman roles — each with additional hourly pay.

Responsibilities

Advanced Diagnostics

• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and computer system failures


• Utilize and train others on advanced scan tools and diagnostic platforms


• Program vehicle control modules (ECU, TCM, BCM, etc.) using OEM and aftermarket tools (Cardaq, RAP systems, etc.)


• Diagnose faults using oscilloscopes and thermal imaging (FLIR)


• Diagnose noise, vibration, drivability, and body control issues


• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics

Electrical & Fabrication

• Perform advanced electrical diagnostics and repairs


• Fabricate wiring systems from scratch when required


• Perform precision repairs without unnecessary component removal


• Fabricate brake and mechanical components as needed


• Apply creative problem-solving when standard repair paths are unavailable

Advanced Systems Experience

• Hybrid and electric vehicle diagnostics and repair


• ADAS, RADAR, and LIDAR systems (Plus but not required)


• Light-duty diesel systems including:
