Job summary

Physicians Mutual Insurance Company, Inc. is seeking an Automation Tester to join the Enterprise Technology Group in a hands-on role focused on building automation, troubleshooting complex issues and delivering high-quality applications.

The position is full-time and on-site, roughly 40 hours per week, with potential extra hours during peak testing periods. You will develop automated scripts, execute functional and regression tests, and collaborate across teams throughout the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or a related field and at least four years of professional software testing experience, including at least two years of test automation development.
• Experience developing test automation scripts using Java or Python.
• Experience developing automation rather than relying solely on record-and-playback testing tools.
• Knowledge of SQL and experience writing queries.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Knowledge of the software development life cycle and software testing life cycle.

We’re looking for an Automation Tester to join our Enterprise Technology Group and help strengthen our automated testing capabilities across multiple applications.

In this role, you’ll develop and maintain automated test scripts, execute functional and regression testing, identify and document defects, and collaborate with technical and business partners throughout the software development life cycle. You’ll work in an Agile environment where testing begins early, quality is a shared responsibility and team members are expected to take ownership of their work.
