Job summary

Regions in Hoover, Alabama seeks a Test Automation Engineer to design and implement automated tests across web, mobile, and mainframe systems. You will contribute to acceptance criteria, automate functional and API tests, and integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in test automation or software development, with experience in C#/Java stacks, APIs, Power BI, and containerized environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in test automation and/or software development.
• Experience creating relational database queries and analyzing data.
• Experience using API’s (e.g. SOAP/REST) to get/post information from/to other interfaces.
• Experience utilizing Power BI and CI/CD tools.
• Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience with C# - NUnit – RestSharp or Java – TestNG – RestAssured, Postman as well as Bamboo, GIT, Artifactory, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Experience with testing in containerized environments (Docker).
• Experience with IDEs such as C#, Visual Studio, Java, Eclipse, or IntelliJ.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Participates in developing acceptance criteria, test design, and automation recommendations in the early phases of projects
• Qualifies tests shortlisted for automation; influences teams to develop atomic and autonomous tests
• Automates functional and API tests to validate production readiness
• Integrates automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Integrates automated tests with Test Management tools to write test results
• Derives and conditions test data for automation using queries to database and APIs
• Collaborates with teams to achieve desired outcomes
• Stays abreast of trends in testing automation industry
• Participates in PI planning, sprint planning, and daily standup meetings
• Supports automation testing needs of new projects, infrastructure upgrades, and application upgrades/enhancements
• Maintains documentation for testing activities and cases
• Collaborates to create parameters and data for improved accuracy
• Remains abreast of trends in testing tools and strategies
• Assists with complex testing projects
• Ensures compliance with risk management, cybersecurity practices; supports process improvements
• May perform manual testing of applications
