Steampunk, Inc. is seeking an Automated Test Engineer to develop and implement automated testing and QA processes for mission-critical client projects in a fast-paced environment.

You will work across the testing lifecycle, write test plans, automate tests, and ensure code quality through rigorous validation in Agile teams. Strong automation, containerization, and cloud experience are required.

Formación

• BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non‑IT field with 2 years IT experience.
• 5+ years with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket.
• 5+ years programming or scripting experience.
• 5+ years DevSecOps in Agile environments.
• Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes.
• 5+ years implementing test automation and CI/CD integration.
• Experience with performance, security, and functional tests.

Responsabilidades

• Understand stakeholder needs and convey to developers.
• Meet with design team to determine testing parameters.
• Write test plans, test cases, tests procedures, bug and QA reports.
• Manage test data architecture and requests.
• Troubleshoot errors and streamline test procedures.
• Test and analyze code, including data, functional, performance, usability, and accessibility tests.
• Establish automated testing tools and infrastructure.
• Validate tests across cloud migrations and data sets.
• Develop automated scripts with parallelization and idempotency.
• Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Ensure systems are secure against cybersecurity threats.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure processes are followed.
• Document as‑is environment, perform gap analysis, and produce options.
• Leverage virtualization and containerization for testing systems.
• Contribute to DevSecOps process improvements and tooling.
• Present status updates and provide cross training to team.
• Act as individual contributor and mentor junior members.

Steampunk is looking for you to join our team as a AutomatedTest Engineer.You'll implement automation for increased efficiency and provide hands‑on testing and QA expertise in mission critical work across our client base.

Contributions

• Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
• Meet with product design team to determine testing parameters
• Write test plans, create test cases, test procedures, bug reports, final QA reports for products
• Manage test data architecture definition and requests
• Troubleshoot errors and streamline the test procedures
• Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results, including three or more of the following:
  • Data validation testing
  • Functional testing
  • Performance and load testing
  • Usability testing
  • Accessibility (508) testing

• Establishingautomated testing tools and infrastructure for test automation
• Provide validation testing of different system and data sets for cloud migrations

• Develop automated testing scripts considering parallelization and idempotency
• Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
• Document as‑is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
• Leverage virtualization and containerization to optimize testing software systems
• Work with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and tools
• Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided
• Present regular status updates and provide cross training to other DevSecOps team members
• Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
• BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non‑IT field and 2 years related IT experience
• 5 Years of experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket
• 5 Years of experience with one or more programming or scripting languages
• 5 Years of application DevSecOps experience with actual/active development experience in an Agile environment
• Experience utilizing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes
• 5 Years of experience implementing test automation, using tools such as Selenium, Appium, Soap UI, RestAssured, Postman
• Experience integrating test automation including performance, security, and functional tests into CI/CD Pipelines
• Experience with performance and load testing
• Experience in one or more cloud computing environments (e.g. AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Preferred:

• Certifications:
  • CAST (Certified Associate in Software Testing)
  • International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Certification
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Experience with documenting an as‑is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations

The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $130,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
