Job summary

Digital Technology International in Lansing, Michigan is seeking an Automation Test Analyst for a direct-client position. The role requires in-person work two days per week in downtown Lansing.

You will design and execute manual and automated tests, analyze requirements, create test plans, test APIs, and report metrics. Strong experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Postman, and Azure DevOps is highly valued. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in IT and 5+ years of QA experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and executing manual and automated tests.
• 5+ years analyzing requirements, Azure DevOps stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience creating test plans and testing strategies.
• API testing with Postman, REST Client, RESTAssured, or APIRequestContext.
• Automating web applications with Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
• Playwright for Java preferred; Selenium WebDriver valued.
• Experience in financial or government domains preferred.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies and QA processes.
• Experience producing testing reports and tracking bugs in Azure DevOps.
• ADA testing tools knowledge (AccVerify or JAWS).
• Test suites for DEV/UAT/QAT/PRE-PROD integrated with ALM.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute manual and automated tests, covering positive, negative, and boundary cases.
• Analyze requirements and acceptance criteria to create reusable test cases.
• Create and document test plans and testing strategies.
• Test APIs and automate web application testing with appropriate frameworks.
• Generate testing reports and metrics; prepare or acquire test data.
• Create test suites for DEV, UAT, QAT, PRE-PROD and integrate with ALM.
• Identify, document, and track defects; communicate results, bugs, and risks.
• Perform performance/load testing; analyze results and identify bottlenecks.
• Write Java automation code, Gherkin scenarios, and SQL-based test data setup.
• Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment and participate in ceremonies.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience designing and executing manual and automated test cases.
• At least 5 years of experience analyzing requirements, Azure DevOps user stories, and acceptance criteria to create effective, reusable test cases, including positive, negative, and boundary scenarios.
• At least 5 years of experience developing and documenting test plans and strategies.
• At least 5 years of experience with API testing and tools such as Postman, REST Client, RESTAssured, or APIRequestContext.
• Demonstrated experience automating web applications with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or comparable frameworks.
• Bachelors degree or higher in an information technology-related field.
• Experience with the Playwright for Java library is highly preferred; a Selenium WebDriver background is also valued.
• Experience in financial or government domains is preferred.
• Understanding of testing methodologies and QA processes, including quality assurance, user acceptance, system integration, accessibility, performance, regression, post-deployment validation, and data conversion.
• Experience producing testing reports and metrics, generating and acquiring test data, and identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs in tools such as Azure DevOps.
• Experience using ADA compliance testing tools such as AccVerify or JAWS.
• Experience creating environment-specific test suites for DEV, UAT, QAT, and PRE-PROD, integrated with application lifecycle management.
• Three to five or more years of hands-on senior-level performance and load testing experience with tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner, including scripting, scenario execution, results analysis, and bottleneck identification.
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, object-oriented Java code for test automation.
• Experience writing Gherkin scenarios (Given/When/Then) and implementing step definitions in Java.
• Ability to write SQL and P-SQL queries, including SELECT statements and JOINs, for test data setup and validation with Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.
• Proficiency with Git version control, including merging and pull requests, in a team environment.
• Experience participating in Agile/Scrum teams and ceremonies, collaborating across functions, and working independently in a fast-paced development environment.
• Strong communication skills for conveying test results, bugs, and risks to developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
• Understanding of the secure application development lifecycle (SADLC).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with the Azure DevOps Testing Module, iOS and Android application testing, Eclipse as a primary development environment, and the TestNG framework is valued.
• Additional performance-testing experience with advanced workload modeling or CI/CD-based performance automation is valued.
