Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Automation Technician in Dubuque, IA to join a heavy manufacturing environment. The role requires a two-year degree or equivalent experience, basic MS Windows skills, and commitment to ongoing training.

A Class A Journeyman license is a potential path for the electrical program. Responsibilities include troubleshooting PLCs, drives, servo, HMI, CNC and working with pneumatics, robotics, and automation.

Qualifications

Two years of related field experience or equivalent
Demonstrated maintenance expertise and strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and PLCs
Basic PC skills with MS Windows and willingness to pursue ongoing training

Responsibilities

Demonstrate maintenance expertise and troubleshoot basic complex issues in electrical and mechanical systems (PLCs, Drives, Servo, HMI, CNC)
Work with pneumatics, automation, and robotics
Engage in basic project management tasks
Handle hazardous waste with proper PPE
Lift and replace motors, pumps, and extruder screws as needed
Work outdoors and in confined spaces, may be at heights
Work with chemicals and near energized equipment
