CHEP is seeking an Automation Technician II on 1st Shift to join our Livonia, MI team. You will perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshoot pneumatics, hydraulics and PLC controls, and help drive reliability improvements on complex automated systems.

You will document work orders in CMMS, assist with scheduling, ensure health and safety compliance, and mentor others while contributing to plant performance. Not remote, in-person role with shift flexibility.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred and 5–7 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong ability to read mechanical/electrical schematics and diagnose PLC systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 35% and work non-traditional hours.

Responsabilités

• Perform proactive and reactive maintenance on pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Document work orders fully in CMMS and support reliability improvements.
• Assist in scheduling maintenance tasks and ensure safety compliance.
• Provide training and mentoring on equipment use and repair.
