Job summary

DHL eCommerce in California, Whittier, is seeking an Automation Technician to oversee the working condition of distribution center automated mailing equipment and ensure safe operation. You will troubleshoot, repair, and support automation projects while coordinating with vendors and internal teams.

The role requires 2+ years of experience, mechanical/electrical/computer skills, and CMMS familiarity. Eligible for a comprehensive benefits package in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing or automated distribution facility.
  • Intermediate mechanical, electrical, and computer skills.
  • Basic understanding of industrial machines operating principles.
  • Experience/ability to work with CMMS.

Responsibilities

  • Setup the use of tools and equipment prior to production for optimum safety levels.
  • Intermediate troubleshooting, maintain, and repair automated mailing equipment.
  • Work with vendors and other internal groups to resolve maintenance issues and minimize downtime.
  • Train operations employees on proper use and basic maintenance of automation machines.
  • Submit reports and participate in weekly Tech calls.
  • Provide guidance and training to Automation Tech I employees.
  • Support in updating manuals and programs for automated equipment.
  • Work on in-house automation projects with automation engineers.
  • Support Automation Helpdesk Level 1.
