Job summary

Novolex in Illinois is seeking an experienced Automation Technician to support automation systems across our thermoforming and extrusion operations. The role requires diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, and handling setups in a 24/7 facility.

The position offers a weekday schedule with on-call flexibility and a strong focus on safety and reliability. Applicants should have 5+ years of automation technician experience within thermoforming/extrusion, plus strong electrical/PLC

Qualifications

• 5+ years automation technician experience within Thermoforming and Extrusion.
• HS Diploma or Equivalency, preferred associate’s degree.
• Proficiency in electrical, PLC programming and mechanical maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic troubleshooting and maintenance on automation equipment.
• Performs maintenance, setup and PM on automation equipment in Thermoforming and Extrusion.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment-related processing issues.
• On-call as needed and flexible with schedule.
• Work in tight spaces and on ladders/platforms.

Job Description

Compensation:$36.44 to $43.71 an hour - paid weekly

Automation Technician Shift Available: Days 2-2-3 schedule (7am to 7pm)Nights 2-2-3 schedule (7pm to 7am) The facility operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Job Description:

• Performs basic troubleshooting and maintenance work on automation equipment.
• Performs maintenance, set-up and PM on automation equipment in Thermoforming and Extrusion.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment related processing issues.
• On-call as needed by department and able to be flexible with schedule as needed.
• Must possess the ability to work in tight spaces and on ladders/platforms

Qualifications:

• Analytical, problem solving, and strong electrical and PLC programming,technical skills including mechanical.
• Strong skills in customer service, interpersonal, oral communication, written communications, teamwork, judgment, motivation, planning, organizing, professionalism, quality, quantity, safety, adaptability, attendance, punctuality, dependability, initiative, innovation.
• HS Diploma or Equivalency, preferred associate’s degree.
• 5 + years automation technician experience within Thermoforming and Extrusion industry.
