This position reports to

Automation Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the plant's expanding automation efforts at the US Motion Headquarters in New Berlin, WI, ensuring a positive impact on safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. You will report to the Automation Manager and be instrumental in deploying and troubleshooting automation field devices. The work model for this role is: Onsite. Your main responsibilities include:

  1. Automation: Assist with deployment, installation, and programming of Vision Systems, SCADA, PLC Controls, Conveyor Automation, Digital Torque Systems, Robotics, and more.
  2. Data & Systems Engineering / Architecture: Help deploy a plant-wide SCADA network to provide connectivity and control to field devices.
  3. Mechanical: Support the installation of automation equipment on the production line, requiring a foundation in mechanical engineering.
  4. Safety / Quality: Contribute to creating safe automation practices while delivering productivity and quality.
  5. Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, emphasizing time management and prioritization.
  6. Lean Manufacturing: Promote lean concepts to ensure efficient production practices.
Qualifications for the role
  • Associate degree in Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field plus minimum 2 years of experience, or Technical Certificate plus 3 years, or High School diploma/GED plus 4 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of Vision systems, digital torque systems, PLCs, robotics, and automation.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Concepts.
  • Must have work authorization to work in the US for ABB.
