Job summary

Baxter in Batesville, IN is seeking an experienced Automation Technician to install, maintain, and replace automation systems across the warehouse. You will troubleshoot sensors, servos, and control components and serve as SME for leadership, delivering reports on current capabilities and future opportunities.

This is a specialized role requiring engineering/robotics background and project management experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Outstanding organizational skills and ability to plan and implement resolutions to technical problems in a time-sensitive manner.
• Experience in a warehouse environment, particularly as it relates to automation technology.
• Excellent proficiency in mechanical work and strong communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Associate degree preferred in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in automation and warehousing environment preferred.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to all environmental, health and safety SOP’s, equipment, policies and procedures, including any department specific requirements.
• Install, maintain, and replace automation systems at key points in the production process
• Troubleshoot non-functioning components including servos, sensors, and control components
• Log equipment usage, parts replacement, and scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum functionality
• Identifying areas for improvement in automated processes and contributing to system upgrades or modifications
• Collaborate with engineers, operators, and other technicians to ensure smooth operation of automated systems
• Periodically report to leadership regarding automation capabilities and status
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Your Role at Baxter:

We are seeking a qualified, experienced individual to join our company as an Automation Technician. As part of our team, you will install, maintain, and replace automation systems throughout the warehouse process. You will also troubleshoot component parts, including motion sensors, control components, photosensors, and other vital technology. In addition to maintaining smooth operation, you will operate as a subject matter expert (SME) for leadership and key decision-makers, delivering reports on current automation capabilities and future opportunities. This is a specialized position, and our ideal applicant has considerable experience and education in engineering, robotics, and project management.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $54,000 to $74,800 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
