Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Warren, OH is seeking an Automation Systems SME to lead the deployment, calibration, and continuous improvement of autonomous vehicle systems (AGVs/AMRs) in our highly automated distribution center.

You will monitor AGV software platforms and integrate them with WMS/WCS to optimize traffic and task efficiency. You will manage day-to-day performance, uptime, fault response, and battery diagnostics; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, technical or related field.
• 3+ years experience in logistics/warehouse/industry.
• 2+ years in WMS experience.
• PC and troubleshooting knowledge at expert level.
• Warehousing activities at intermediate level.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and data handling.
• Knowledge of warehouse/software applications and routing/dispatch systems.

• Pay Type: Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month
• Annual Salary Pay: $100K
• Schedule: Monday - Friday days; Must be flexible to work other shifts as needed.

Summary

Lead the implementation, calibration, and continuous improvement of autonomous vehicle systems (AGVs/AMRs) in a highly automated distribution center. Monitor AGV software platforms and integrate them with WMS/WCS systems to optimize vehicle traffic and task efficiency.

Manage day-to-day performance and health of AGV / AMR systems, including system uptime, fault response, and battery diagnostics. Conduct root cause analysis on recurring faults and implements corrective and preventive actions.

Provide subject matter expertise and technical guidance to onsite maintenance teams, technicians, and programmers.

Essential Functions

• Maintain proper slotting configuration (Rack and Pick slots) to ensure efficiency in the warehouse
• Staffing performance management and development of exempt and non-exempt employees
• Develop and maintain inter-related computer systems that functionally support the facility in all areas of operations including production, maintenance, warehousing, and administration.
• Provide complete training in the use of hardware and software to users of the systems
• Maintain JDA WMS logic – Ensure operations is satisfied with the way WMS works in: Allocating, Put away, Replenishment, etc.
• Work with operations to streamline processes and troubleshoot and correct any system problems
• Maintain labor management system and provide data to site leadership as required
• Assist in monitoring workload and assess evaluation/development plans of direct reports.
• Responsible for maintaining, trouble shooting, and improving on all interfaces of the WMS, material handling systems, RF devices, and other hardware (printers, label makers, etc.)
• Develop and maintain system SOP’s (archiving, disaster recovery, back-up procedures, system specs, etc.)
• Complete velocity and layout analysis and associated changes as scheduled
• Ensure team members acquire necessary skills and performance attributes, in line with business and personal development needs. Data entry with attention to detail and accuracy entering alpha-numeric data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business, Technical or another related field required
• 3 years or more in Experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse or industry related field required
• 2 years or more in WMS experience required

Compensation Information
