Job summary

Dematic Consulting in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Automated Material Handling Consultant to advise customers, sales and execution teams. You will analyze existing systems, propose improvements, and lead multi-disciplinary consultancy projects to optimize warehouse automation and material handling processes.

You will collaborate with engineers and operations to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions that address real-world challenges and improve performance across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Understand the full functionality of world class warehouse and distribution center automation.
• Analyze and evaluate new and existing systems and processes, identifying value-added and non-value-added activities to solve design challenges.
• Conceive, compare, recommend, and present innovative solutions based on analysis and organizational objectives.
• Evaluate and explore new and existing processes, equipment, and materials as an input to performance metrics.
• Working with a cross-functional team of engineers from several technical disciplines to deliver some of the most innovative solutions in the industry.
• Review simulation scenarios to ensure the deliverability of the design / scope / solution with a “real world” view of the operational challenges.
• Lead consultancy projects with our customers to create a vision for the future of their operations.
• Utilize principles of mathematics, science, and engineering to streamline processes
• Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time study, and process balancing
