Job summary

QCS Staffing seeks an Automation Site Support Engineer for a major pharma project in Ohio (12 months). You will support site automation systems, ensure reliable operation and fast response to production issues.

You will work with automation engineers, site stakeholders and cross-functional teams to establish support models and on-call arrangements; participate in go-live, operational readiness, SOP development and handover.

Qualifications

• Experience configuring, troubleshooting and supporting industrial automation systems, including DeltaV and/or Rockwell platforms.
• Understanding ISA-88 principles, operational support models and automation best practices in manufacturing.
• Experience developing automation support processes, KPIs and change management procedures.
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for site automation systems during operations.
• Develop and implement automation support processes and standards.

Automation Site Support Engineer - Ohio - 12 months

We’re supporting a major new-build facility in Ohio, a multi-billion-dollar investment designed to push the boundaries of science and engineering. We’re looking for an Automation Site Support Engineer to support this project and help deliver this world‑class program.

What You’ll Deliver

• Provide technical support for site automation systems, ensuring reliable operation and effective response to production-related issues.
• Develop and implement automation support processes, standards and best practices to support the transition from project delivery to operational support.
• Collaborate with automation engineers, site stakeholders and cross-functional teams to establish support models, work management processes and on‑call arrangements.
• Support system go‑live activities, operational readiness reviews, SOP development and the successful handover of automation systems to site operations.
• Monitor support performance, develop operational metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement within a GxP/GMP-regulated environment.
• Act as a key point of contact for automation support activities, providing regular progress updates, managing issues and ensuring effective stakeholder communication.

What You’ll Need

• Proven experience configuring, troubleshooting and supporting industrial automation systems, including DeltaV and/or Rockwell platforms.
• Strong understanding of ISA-88 principles, operational support models and automation best practices within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing and implementing automation support processes, standards, KPIs and change management procedures.
• Knowledge of PI Historian integration, data management and connectivity with process control systems.
• Hands‑on experience with automation hardware, control panels, field instrumentation and associated wiring systems.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and documentation skills, with the ability to translate business and operational requirements into practical automation solutions.
