Job summary

Airgas is hiring an Automation Sales Specialist for Tulsa, OK and surrounding areas. You will evaluate applications and propose the best automation solutions, including robots, controllers, drives, and software.

You will support account teams, prepare quotes, and conduct demonstrations to drive sales and service success. The role requires experience with robotic and automation systems, strong communication, and willingness to travel regularly, including overnight trips.

Qualifications

  • Experience in sale and maintenance of robotic, shape cutting and welding systems.
  • Computer literacy for proposals, service reports and documentation.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school required.
  • Three to five years related experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Regular travel with occasional overnight trips; valid driving record.
  • Auto allowance provided for work travel.

Responsibilities

  • Sell and support robotic, shape cutting and welding systems and retrofits.
  • Prepare proposals, quotations and estimates for customers and upgrades.
  • Conduct tests, demonstrations and training for operators.
  • Coordinate with Account Managers to meet sales and service goals.
  • Attend meetings, manage part orders, and assist in budgeting inputs.

Airgas is Hiring for a Automation Sales Specialist in Tulsa, OK or Oklahoma City, OK! (can actually be located anywhere in the MidSouth region but must be willing to travel)

Airgas is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Automation Sales Specialist responsible evaluating customer applications to determine the optimum product, services, retrofits, upgrades, or new controllers, software, and equipment to fulfill the customer's requirements. Preparation of proposals and quotations for customers and assists Account Managers in selling. Conducts variety of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests on as well as installs, Robotic systems, shape cutting systems, welding systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure unit functions according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure by performing the following duties.

  • Makes sales calls with Account Managers, Sales Managers, and Segment Managers to sell Preventive Maintenance, retrofits, new equipment, controllers, drive packages, and software to prospective and existing customers.

  • Prepares proposals, quotations, and estimates for new and or upgrades and retrofits to existing customer equipment.

  • Sells used and reconditioned equipment.

  • Teaches and instructs operators on the proper use of equipment operation, sequencing, and optimization of process.

  • Participates in territory planning for sales and service & works in conjunction with Sales Managers, Account Managers, Segment Manager, and supplier representatives to achieve sales and service goals.

  • Attends War Room Meetings and coordinates attendance with Segment Manager & Area Sales Managers.

  • Provides input on sales and expense budgets for Segment endeavors.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot, evaluate applications and processes, break down, repair, assemble industrial automation and components.

  • Reads test schedule, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.

  • Tests functional performance of systems, processes, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature change, vibration, pressure, grounding and humidity.

  • Orders parts and maintains stock of repair parts for sale and customer equipment repair.

  • Connects unit to be tested to test equipment.

  • Reads dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance.

  • Compares results with specifications and records test data.

  • Analyzes test results on defective units to determine cause of failure.

  • Replaces defective wiring and components or records defects on tag attached to unit and returns unit to manufacturer for repair.

  • Devises test equipment setup to evaluate performance and operation of nonstandard or customer returned units.

  • Generates information to complete sales of retrofits, new equipment, prepares invoices for sales and service.

  • Conducts sales demonstrations

  • Makes sales & service calls to customer locations as needed.

  • To conduct one's self in a safe manner and to observe all safety best practices and to lead safe work activities by example. To report any unsafe situation to management immediately and take action to protect other from hazards.

  • To employ at all times a Safety First attitude that prevents incidents, unsafe practices, and accidents.

Required
  • Experienced in the sale and maintenance of Robotic systems, shape cutting systems, welding systems,
  • Computer literacy for preparation of sales and service proposals and report writing.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis. Some overnight travel required
  • Safe driving record and reliable transportation for work travel (auto allowance provided)
Preferred
  • Supplier factory training on equipment, processes, software, controllers, drives, and etc to ensure the customer is sold the right products and services for the applications.
