Job summary

Chromalloy is offering an Engineering Intern – Automation & Robotics within its Gear Up Early Career Program. You’ll work on meaningful projects supporting aerospace component manufacturing and repair, gaining hands-on experience with COBOTs, machine vision, automated marking, and industrial controls under experienced engineers.

The role focuses on developing and implementing automation solutions in an FAA Repair Station environment, with exposure to data acquisition and process improvement

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Robotic or related engineering discipline
• Strong academic standing and availability for the duration of the internship
• Interest in industrial automation, robotics, aerospace manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 technologies
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English

Responsibilities

• Assist with integration and testing of collaborative robots (COBOTs), end-of-arm tooling, weighing systems, machine vision technologies, and automated marking equipment
• Support development and documentation of repair processes for turbine, compressor, and combustor components
• Assist with process improvement initiatives through data collection, analysis, and structured problem-solving methods
• Track process metrics and KPIs to support manufacturing and repair process performance
• Support engineering projects through technical documentation, data gathering, testing, and project coordination activities
