Job summary

Simera is seeking an Automation QA Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions that ensure our software products meet high standards of quality, reliability, and performance.

You will create and execute automated tests for functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing, and develop scalable frameworks. Collaborate with developers, QA, product managers, and other stakeholders to improve coverage and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies.
• Programming/scripting in languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable automated testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of API testing and RESTful services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
• Experience with Git and version control systems.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL and database testing.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting abilities.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and delivery.
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar technologies.
• Conduct cross-browser, cross-platform, and device testing when required.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Monitor automation results and communicate defects, risks, and testing progress.
• Review test coverage and identify areas where automation can improve testing efficiency.
• Maintain clear documentation for automation frameworks, test cases, processes, and results.
• Research and recommend improvements to testing tools, frameworks, and automation strategies.
• Support continuous improvement of QA processes and engineering practices.

• Experience testing web applications, APIs, mobile applications, or other software products.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using version control systems such as Git.
• Experience identifying, documenting, and troubleshooting software defects.
• Understanding of software development and release processes.
• Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into effective automated testing strategies.
