Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a Project Manager to lead full-cycle material handling automation projects in a developmental role with mentorship from seasoned managers.

You will develop layouts using AutoCAD, coordinate with customers and suppliers, and analyze data to drive engineering, budgeting, and scheduling. The role offers growth opportunities and exposure to critical client projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3 years of hands-on material handling or automation project experience.
  • Strong understanding of AMHS system architecture and functionality.
  • Proficient reading of blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficient in E Plan, AutoCAD and MS Project; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist managing material handling automation projects from concept through completion.
  • Develop project layouts in AutoCAD with safety, quality, and functionality in mind.
  • Coordinate design and layout details with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Gather and analyze project data to guide engineering, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve issues during planning and installation phases.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to meet deadlines.
  • Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction and coordinate technical needs.
  • Implement project scope of work and maintain up-to-date documentation.
  • Support vendor selection through competitive bids and quote reviews.
  • Review and prepare project specifications, RFQs, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate installation schedules and monitor site progress and quality.
  • Contribute to project closeout with final documentation and manuals.

Overview

A leading industrial OEM specializing in high-precision fabrication, automation, and material handling machinery is seeking a Project Manager to support the full-cycle execution of new and existing material handling automation projects. This is a developmental role offering mentorship from experienced project and engineering managers, ideal for someone looking to grow within a technical project management career path.

What you'll do
  • Assist with managing material handling automation projects from concept through completion

Required qualifications

  • Proficiency in E Plan, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (MS Project a must)
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and customers
  • Ability to manage time effectively, multitask, and stay calm under pressureComfort presenting updates to teams, customers, and stakeholders
  • Professional presence in meetings with clients, vendors, and project teams
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Compensation and benefits
  • Salary: $80000.00 - $95000.00 per year (total compensation package, including bonus and profit share, remains well under $800,000 annually)
