Job summary

Job description

We are looking for an experienced automation engineer who has process controls software development experience. This role will work with customers to define control system requirements, develop control system software designs, develop software applications, test and client acceptance of the applications, and provide training and startup plant assistance to the customer for the applications. We provide solutions for customers using Emerson’s DeltaV product line. Success in this position will be obtained by solving our customers’ problems and earning repeat business with the customer.

Skills:

• Project delivery experience with control systems, delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Experience in the process industry, chemical, life science, oil and gas, pulp and paper.
• Software development experience on a process control platform.
• Excellent customer communications and relationship skills.
• Experience working in a collaborate team environment.
• Knowledge of ISA S88 standard and batch control applications.
• Application of software programming standards to a system design.
• Knowledge of P&ID drawings and basic electrical schematics for I/O.
• Experience with OPC interfaces.
• Working knowledge of control instrumentation, i.e. pressure, temperature, flow, valves, drives
• Analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Initiative and follow through to completion.
• Continuous learning and commitment to improvement.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Requirements:

• 4-year B.S. degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with Emerson’s DeltaV systems.
• Ability to travel up to 25% within our 4-state area (Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan).
