Job summary

Coilcraft, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Automation) for our Hawarden, IA location. The role focuses on designing automation concepts and integrating electronic controls, pneumatics, and mechanical systems into existing products.

You will lead prototype development, assess cost and reliability, and drive project schedules while collaborating with manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, and marketing teams. Strong SolidWorks skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in manufacturing and automation.
• 5+ years proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Experience in complete machine and systems design.

Responsibilities

• Design automation for products and assemblies using electronic controls, pneumatic actuators, and mechanical systems.
• Develop new automation concepts/specifications or improve existing products with input from manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, and marketing.
• Lead design efforts for prototypes and production drawings.
• Evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability.
• Set, implement, and maintain schedules to ensure project completion.
• Review initial automation runs for design compliance and implement changes as needed.
• Provide technical support to engineers, other departments, and customers.
