Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Hanover is seeking an Automation Line Operator to run robotic palletizers and conveyors on a fast-paced snack production line. You will monitor performance, troubleshoot via HMI, keep areas clean, and collaborate with QA and maintenance teams to maintain uptime.

The role requires 1–2 years in manufacturing, basic PLC understanding, and attention to detail; forklift certification is a plus. Safety and lean practices are emphasized daily.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of manufacturing or food packaging experience.
• Technical training in automation or robotics is a plus.
• Comfort with robotic arms, conveyors and automated systems.
• Basic understanding of alarms, interfaces and troubleshooting methods.
• Strong attention to detail and procedure adherence.
• Forklift certification is preferred and helpful.
• Familiarity with barcode scanners, vision systems and label printers.
• Knowledge of PLC systems or programming languages is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor automated systems to minimize downtime.
• Use HMI to start, stop, reset and troubleshoot equipment.
• Ensure correct case orientation and stacking per SKU/customer needs.
• Monitor box counts, pallet output, and sensors to track performance.
• Clear jams and alarms safely; restart system when needed.
• Perform daily equipment checks and cleaning at shift start/end.
• Maintain cleanliness in the automation area; report downtime.
• Collaborate with QA, maintenance and packaging teams.
• Follow lockout/tagout and all safety protocols.
• Log mechanical issues and downtime events in Redzone.
• Assist with light maintenance and troubleshooting.
