Job summary

Pacific Defense is seeking an Automation Engineering Technician to support Sunnyvale, CA operations. You will assist in engineering development, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex instrumentation to ensure reliability and configuration control.

The role requires experience with PCB assembly, soldering, and interpreting drawings. You will work both independently and as part of cross-functional teams to transition products from design to manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Must be US Citizen and IPC certified.
• Experience reading drawings, BOMs and complex assembly instructions.
• Experience with Python and Linux.
• Proven ability to transition products from design to manufacturing.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to read schematics and apply them to assembly.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, rework, or assemble units using schematics and instructions.
• Hand solder PCBs and perform SMT and through-hole soldering.
• Modify PCBs and perform rework as needed.
• Follow standardized procedures with precision.
• Communicate status across departments using collaboration tools.
• Read and apply schematics and assembly drawings.
