Job summary

Cerebras Systems, maker of the world’s largest AI chip, seeks a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to design, implement, and optimize automated manufacturing assembly and test systems. You will collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to improve productivity and product quality.

The role involves leading automation projects, programming PLCs, troubleshooting control systems, ensuring safety compliance, and advancing Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in manufacturing automation or process engineering.
• Experience programming PLCs (AB, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron).
• Knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, or DeviceNet.
• Robotics integration and automated material handling experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, robotics, and control systems.
• Support installation, commissioning and validation of new equipment.
• Analyze processes to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, control documentation, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Lead or support capital automation projects from concept to implementation.
• Ensure safety regulations, standards, and company policies are followed.
• Monitor equipment performance using data analysis and drive continuous improvement.
• Train production and maintenance personnel on new automation systems.
• Maintain spare parts inventories and support maintenance programs.
