Job summary

Heraeus Medevio in White Bear Lake, MN is seeking an Automation Engineer II to design, build, and integrate custom tooling and robotic equipment in a medical device environment. This role covers full-cycle development from concept through installation with emphasis on equipment design, testing, and documentation.

This on-site position requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 2 years of automation experience, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred), and the ability to manage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of automation development experience.
• Strong CAD modeling/design experience; SolidWorks preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with R&D, Process Development, and Manufacturing Engineering to develop automation concepts.
• Designs manual, semi-automated, and automated equipment; selects components and sources.
• Coordinates design reviews to meet internal customer needs.
• Purchases and assembles systems including mechanical, electrical, controls, and safety.
• Tests and debugs systems for development or production use.
• Reports progress to milestones and documents equipment accordingly.
