Job summary

Techtronic Industries is seeking an Automation Engineer 1 to design, build, and optimize automated test systems within the Test Automation Group. The role involves mechanical design, electrical controls, and software tasks to support product development and engineering efforts.

An ideal candidate will combine mechanical and electrical problem-solving with hands-on experimentation, CAD proficiency, and basic PLC/HMI programming. Travel up to 5% is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation or related field.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Design, assemble, and modify automated machinery to automate testing processes with guidance.
• Develop and debug automation programs (PLC, HMI, robotics) with guidance.
• Coordinate with engineers to ensure design intent and cost effectiveness.
