Job summary

Onesubsea is seeking an automation engineer to design and implement HMIs and dashboards using Ignition, and to program/debug Allen-Bradley PLCs and Fanuc robots. You will commission automated cells, tune servo motors and VFDs, and lead cross-functional automation projects.

You will mentor automation engineers, support maintenance staff, and collaborate with manufacturing and IT teams to ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics or controls/automation engineering and related experience.
• 2–3 years of coursework/experience in programming MATLAB, C/C++, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Ability to work in a team and willingness to be mentored in automation engineering.
• Effective communication and ability to independently work on assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Create HMIs, dashboards, and manufacturing apps using Ignition software.
• Program and debug Allen-Bradley PLCs and Fanuc robots.
• Commission automation and robotic cells; tune various control systems.
• Lead automation projects and coordinate with manufacturing, sustaining, and IT teams.
• Train and develop automation engineers and technicians; support maintenance staff.
