Job summary

Quest Global in New York is seeking an experienced engineer for test automation focusing on hardware integration and data pipelines.

You will drive AI-powered tooling, validate tasks, and deliver data-driven executive reports. A 5+ year background in consumer electronics testing is preferred, with a relevant CS/EE degree. On-site, full-time with comprehensive benefits in New York.

Responsibilities

  • Bring up test stations and fixtures; integrate into automation framework and maintain data pipelines.
  • Build AI-powered tooling to improve team efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Drive and execute validation to meet deadlines and priorities with ownership.
  • Design, run, and analyze automated test stations; support data-driven product decisions.
  • Collaborate with ML engineers on model performance evaluation and signal quality.
  • Deliver executive-level status reporting with data-backed insights.
  • Document test results; track bugs; ensure traceability from execution to resolution.

What You Will Do
  • Test Station & Fixture Bring up Integration: Partner with third party vendors in Mechatronic fixture bring up and Integrate test stations and mechanical fixtures into the automation framework. Build and maintain E2E data pipelines from test execution through to automated reporting dashboards. Manage the underlying test infrastructure.
  • AI-Driven Automation & Tooling Leverage AI capabilities to enhance test automation Build AI-powered tooling to improve team efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Validation Execution & Prioritization: Drive and execute validation to meet key deadlines and priority goals. Demonstrate high agency and ownership, define what to work on, not just execute.
  • Experimentation & Data-Driven Decisions: Design, run, and analyze automated test stations and support data-driven product decisions through rigorous analysis and clear recommendations.
  • ML & Signal Quality Partnership: Partner with ML engineers and research scientists on model performance evaluation and signal quality assessment.
  • Executive Reporting & Communication: Deliver executive-level status reporting with strong presentation skills. Contribute to Wearables-wide metric reviews with quantitative, data-backed insights.
  • Documentation & Bug Tracking: Clearly document test results. Keep track of bugs encountered and fixed. Maintain traceability from execution to resolution.
What You Will Bring
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in test automation within the consumer electronics industry, spanning product validation, hardware integration, and data pipeline development.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Skills And Competencies
  • Highly skilled in embedded system testing automation scripting and manual validation. Familiarity with core embedded concepts (MCU, SoC, memory architecture).
  • Python & ScriptingStrong expertise in Python. Capable of writing shell/batch scripts as required. Nice to have: C.
  • Python LibrariesWorking proficiency with pandas, numpy, opencv, and ability to identify and adopt new libraries as needed.
  • Peripheral Device Testing, hands-on testing with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Camera, Audio, and Sensors, including proficiency on testing tools and protocols.
  • Comfortable working across both macOS and Windows environments.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Should be able to communicate effectively and positively
Pay Range

$100,000 - $120,000

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements

This role is considered an on-site position located in New York

  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
