Job summary

SCI Technology, a Sanmina Company, Huntsville, AL, seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to design, program, integrate, and troubleshoot automated systems for high-mix/low-volume and high-volume production lines. Bridge hardware and software to create efficient, repeatable workflows including SMT lines, robotic dispensing, and automated inspection.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline with 3+ years in automation/controls within EMS or electronics manufacturing.
Proven track record with major PLC platforms and robotics.

Responsibilities

Design, program, and deploy automated manufacturing equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial robotics.
Develop end-of-arm tooling and fixtures for PCBA handling, box-build, and final product testing.
Integrate vision systems for alignment, defect detection, and traceability.
Analyze cycle times, bottlenecks, and yields to improve throughput and reduce scrap.
Implement Industry 4.0 initiatives and ensure connectivity with MES for real-time data.
Provide maintenance support and root-cause analysis to minimize downtime.
Generate technical docs: schematics, P&IDs, manuals, SOPs.
