Job summary

SLB is seeking an IACS Cybersecurity Engineer to safeguard manufacturing networks, industrial PLCs, HMI systems, and servers. You will analyze security threats, configure routers/firewalls, and support digitalization efforts across global plants.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential to coordinate with Product Engineering and Quality teams. Qualifications include a bachelor’s in a relevant field and 7 years of experience, with Siemens S7 and Profinet/Ethernet/Modbus TCP knowledge.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/IT/CS or equivalent; electrical engineering preferred.
  • 7 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity for manufacturing environments.
  • Experience configuring industrial networks and PLCs is required.

Responsibilities

  • Resolves technical issues in networks, login schemes, and certificates to keep manufacturing running.
  • Designs and troubleshoots cybersecurity equipment and plant networks; improves processes and controls.
  • Leads automation and digitalization projects across manufacturing facilities.

Job description

Essential functions:

The following functions can be expected the IACS Cybersecurity Engineer position:Anticipates complex internal and external business issues with impact on the organization and can recommend innovative program and/or program solutions.Resolves technical issues related to networks, login schemes, certificates, keeps the manufacturing activities running by addressing urgent and long-term issues.Re-design and trouble-shoot problems on Cybersecurity equipment (network switches, routers, firewalls, servers and networked automation components) and effect solutions.Implement improvements in processes, methods, and production controls for manufacturing systems and set up new or existing equipment. Whether new or retrofitted, always trying to improve the safety and cybersecurity of equipment.Generates and/or leads the development of new ideas and tests new techniques.Ensure new processes and products meet requirements as defined by Product Engineering/Quality departments. Improves existing work practices and supplement capabilities with new and improved process control.Identify, design, and assist in purchasing equipment for development of manufacturing processes.Evaluate vendor proposals and capabilities.Participate in new product design and development reviews, FMEA, failure investigations, design control activities, and training of personnel.Creates financial justifications for new equipment that will increase capacities, reliability and/or quality. Utilizes lessons learned from previous events and make some and/or provide advice on decisions accordingly. Implements Lean manufacturing principles and practices throughout the operation and importance of 5S and sustaining good working practices. Creates visual work instructions for new or existing procedures.Development and deployment of digital manufacturing technology and agile automation production system solutions into a global manufacturing facility. Manage and lead the automation and digitalization efforts for all of manufacturing. Provide training and develop operators/maintenance techs, monitor progression, facilitate, and coach employees through special projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill and / or ability required.EducationBachelors in Engineering/Information Technology/Computer Science (Electrical Engineering preferred).Previous Experience:7 years of relevant experience.Additional Requirements:Experience in configuring and troubleshoot ethernet networks and industrial control components on the network.Experience setting Firewall rules, working in Active directory, Setting up VLANs across a network. \Experience in Certificate based communication protocols and setting up CA type Certificates. Experience working with automation systems and PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred).Industrial experience with installation and maintaining PLC's, HMI's, plant networks, servers, and related equipment.Desirable experience with Siemens S7, TIA Portal, Allen Bradley SLC & Control Logix.Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet I/P, and Modbus TCP.Ability to proficiently communicate ideas and concepts, developing the ability to persuade and influence others as needed, explaining why things are done the way they are within a broader organizational context.The successful candidate should have a solid understanding and background in manufacturing with a proven record of technical accomplishments. Ability to work independently to develop, collect and interpret data, and prepare reports and work instructions for a variety of projects.Be able to read and understand technical drawings and procedures.Ability to contribute to bid and proposal processes.Ability to communicate ideas and concepts, explaining detailed technical information.Ability to work in a team environment.Ability to operate machines and power tools is preferable.Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner, and the ability to work well under stress and time pressures.
