Job summary

Cubic Corporation's Cubic Digital Intelligence unit is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Unified Video engineering team. The role focuses on automation, developer productivity, and AI-assisted software development, designing solutions that streamline build, test, deployment, and release workflows across multiple teams.

You will use Python, Node.js, and scripting to boost efficiency, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and tooling in a hybrid Ashburn, VA environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional software development or automation experience.
• Experience with Python, JavaScript/Node.js, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
• Experience with Git, source control workflows, and CI/CD concepts.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation for software development, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Build AI-assisted tools to boost developer productivity across teams.
• Develop automation using Python, Node.js, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
• Create and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines and workflow automation.
• Integrate AI services and LLMs into engineering workflows where appropriate.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployments with Ansible and containers.
• Develop internal tooling, dashboards, and utilities to improve efficiency and visibility.
• Collaborate with engineers, DevSecOps, QA, and Product to identify opportunities.
• Evaluate emerging AI tech and recommend practical applications.
• Produce technical docs, standards, and best practices for automation.
