Job summary

Capstone-Logistics,-LL is seeking an Automation Engineer to support deployment, integration, and ongoing optimization of automated material handling and warehouse systems. You will partner with operations, IT, maintenance, and vendors to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Responsibilities include end-to-end implementation, WMS/WCS/WES integration, troubleshooting, KPI monitoring, SOP and training material development, and coordinating preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical) or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or logistics environments.
  • Hands-on experience with automated material handling, robotics, or warehouse systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with WMS, WCS, and WES environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end implementation of warehouse automation systems (installation, testing, commissioning, stabilization).
  • Provide technical support for integration with WMS, WCS, and WES to ensure data flow.
  • Troubleshoot automation issues and perform root-cause analysis with internal teams and vendors.
  • Monitor KPIs such as throughput and uptime and support continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and training materials for site operators.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Participate in cross-functional project meetings and provide technical input on timelines and budgets.

JOB SUMMARY: The Automation Engineeris responsible forsupporting the deployment, integration, and ongoing optimization of automated material handling and warehouse automation systems. This role partners with operations, IT, maintenance, and external vendors to ensure systemsoperatesafely, reliably, and in alignment with business and customer requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility but mayprovidefunctional guidance or training support to operators and technicians as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities:

  • Support end-to-end implementation of warehouse automation systems, including installation, testing, commissioning, and stabilization.
  • Provide technical support for integration with WMS, WCS, and WES platforms to ensure reliable system performance and data flow.
  • Troubleshoot automation system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues.
  • MonitorautomationKPIs such as throughput, uptime, and accuracy, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assistin the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials for site operators.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensureoptimalsystem health and minimal downtime.
  • Participate in cross-functional project meetings and provide technical input to support timelines, budgets, and operational readiness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

education and/or experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering(Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field),Masters degree is Preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, orlogisticsenvironments.
  • Hands-on experience supporting automated material handling, robotics, or warehouse automation systems preferred.

knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Working knowledge of warehouse automation systems and controls.
  • Familiarity with WMS, WCS, and WES environments.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.

physical requirements:

  • Ability to spend extended periods walking or standing on the warehouse floor during system installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Frequent movement between operational areas, including climbing stairs, accessing elevated platforms, and inspecting automation equipment.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, vest, and hard hat when on-site.
  • Regular use of computers, diagnostic tools, and handheld devices for system monitoring and troubleshooting.
