Job summary

Optimum is hiring a Core Services Automation Software Engineer to drive enterprise automation across systems, platforms, and services. You will design, build, test, and ship scalable automation, connecting cloud platforms, identity services, and infrastructure to enable reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience in automation engineering within enterprise environments.
• Strong experience designing, developing, and shipping automation across multiple systems and platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in: PowerShell and/or Python (primary development languages) and Ansible and Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: SDLC, Version control (Git), REST API development, CI/CD pipelines, Microsoft cloud/identity development (Entra ID, Graph API, M365).
• Experience with agentic AI tools and development workflows (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar).
• Preferred: Jira, GitHub/GitLab, Confluence; DevSecOps familiarity; enterprise integration experience across identity, infrastructure, and application platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy automation software, tools, and services that integrate enterprise systems and services.
• Define and maintain automation frameworks, patterns, and standards across the organization.
• Lead design of end-to-end workflows spanning multiple systems, APIs, and platforms.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and operational requirements.
• Design and maintain reusable automation libraries, modules, and internal APIs; produce technical design documentation.
• Develop production-quality code and internal tools; build automated tests and participate in code reviews.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage code in Git.
• Develop automation using PowerShell and Python; use Ansible and Terraform for IaC.
• Create provisioning/configuration workflows and monitor data/operational processes.
• Troubleshoot complex automation issues; provide root cause analysis and remediation.
• Own and maintain shared automation codebase; guide evolution of automation platforms.
• Evaluate new technologies to enhance automation capabilities; identify workflow standardization opportunities.

Job Summary

As a Core Services Automation Software Engineer, you will serve a key function driving enterprise automation across systems, platforms, and services.
This role is focused on designing, building, testing and shipping scalable automation across the enterprise ecosystem—connecting cloud platforms, identity services, infrastructure systems, and operational tools to enable consistent, reliable, and efficient operations.
You will deliver on automation strategies, guide architectural decisions, and partner across engineering teams to design, develop, and deliver end-to-end automation software and integrations, owning the full software development lifecycle.
