Job summary

RESRG is seeking an Automation Engineer for our Covington, GA facility to join the Operations Transformation – Robotics/Automation team. You will specify, design, build, program and install robotic and automated manufacturing equipment, collaborating across functions to deliver innovative solutions that support our automation roadmap and initiatives, while driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering or similar automation degree.
  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • 5+ years of experience with specification, procurement, installation, and ramp-up of capital/robotic equipment production lines.
  • 3+ years of robot programming experience.
  • Experience with Fanuc Handling Tool and Operation.
  • Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley control systems (PLC logic, PowerFlex drives, FactoryTalk).
  • Proficiency in programming and setup of sensors (Keyence, Banner, Cognex, etc.).
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems within robotic cells.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI).
  • Willingness to travel 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Configure camera and vision systems for defect and component recognition.
  • Evaluate feasibility, value, and investment requirements for automation projects.
  • Lead concept design, programming, testing, and deployment of automation systems (including pick & place, palletizing, assembly, component installation, and material handling).
  • Drive innovation by recommending creative solutions and process improvements.
  • Communicate project status, updates, and risks to stakeholders across various levels.

Your Job

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Automation Engineer to join our Operations Transformation – Robotics/Automation team. In this role, you will play a key part in specifying, designing, building, programming, and installing robotic and automated manufacturing equipment. You will collaborate cross-functionally to create, deploy, troubleshoot, and deliver innovative equipment solutions that support our automation roadmap and initiatives.

What You Will Do in Your Role
  • Program robots using a hands-on approach.
  • Design and implement robotic cells to support transformation systems.
  • Configure camera and vision systems for defect and component recognition.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar automation-related degree.
  • Experience using SolidWorks.
  • 5+ years of experience with specification, procurement, installation, and ramp-up of capital/robotic equipment production lines.
  • 3+ years of robot programming experience.
  • Experience with Fanuc Handling Tool & Operation (or similar).
  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley control systems (PLC logic, PowerFlex drives, FactoryTalk).
  • Proficiency in programming and setup of sensors (Keyence, Banner, Cognex, etc.)
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems within robotic cells.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • 20% of travel.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience with Fanuc vision programming or similar.
  • Experience with collaborative robot programming (Fanuc or similar).
  • Proficiency in Allen Bradley Studio 5000, RSView, and RSLogix 500.
  • Experience with 3D printer programming.
  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Experience building and commissioning automation equipment.
  • Familiarity with automation simulation software.
