Role: Automation/Electrical & Instrumentation/ E&I Engineer

Location: Hugoton, KS, 67951 - Onsite (Relocation and joining bonus will be provided)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Automation / E&I Engineer to design, implement, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems, as well as automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial instrumentation in a fast‑paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems for industrial equipment and processes.
• Develop and troubleshoot automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA platforms.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and industry regulations.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical and control system failures.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize process control and automation strategies.
• Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for E&I assets.
• Support commissioning and startup of new equipment and automation projects.
• Maintain accurate documentation including wiring diagrams, loop sheets, and control logic.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial E&I and automation engineering.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen‑Bradley), HMI development, and SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of industrial sensors, actuators, VFDs, and control loops.
• Familiarity with NEC, ISA, and other relevant standards.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in hazardous area classification and intrinsic safety.
• Project management and budgeting experience.
• Ability to train and mentor technicians and junior engineers.
