Job summary

Broetje Automation in Charleston, SC, is seeking a Machine Maintenance Technician to maintain robotic-enabled fastening machines used in aircraft assembly at the Boeing facility. The role requires troubleshooting Siemens controls and PLCs, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring OEM standards are met.

The position offers full-time shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd) with overtime and shift differential; benefits include healthcare, 401(k) match, PTO, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• CNC/machining troubleshooting experience with Siemens 840D controls.
• PLC troubleshooting experience with Siemens Step 7 PLC.
• Preferred: technical certificate or training in controls systems, sensors, and electromechanical devices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operation of Broetje Automated Fuselage Equipment and related support equipment by performing maintenance per OEM manuals and specs.
• Locate problems by observing mechanical and electrical assemblies, listening for issues, and using precision test equipment.
• Remove defective parts and inspect form/fit; dismantle assemblies using hand/power tools, hoists and cranes.
• Adjust tooling and equipment to OEM specifications using hand tools.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and comply with OEM standards.
• Maintain inventories of equipment, parts, and supplies; manage orders and receipts in Maximo.
• Prepare maintenance reports by collecting and summarizing data and trends.
• Document actions and communicate needs across shifts to ensure continuity.
