Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced crane automation professional to operate overhead cranes in remote, manual, semi-automatic, and automatic modes. You will monitor safety, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs while documenting actions and adjustments.

You should have automation/robotics expertise and be comfortable reading schematics and manuals, with experience in industrial environments, ideally steel mills. Strong teamwork and safety are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience or certification in automation, robotics, electrical, or data analysis.
  • Experience in an industrial environment, preferably steel mill.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
  • Ability to work well in cross-functional teams and communicate effectively.
  • Familiarity with L2 WMS, L1 systems (including HMI screens, encoders, radars) and CCTV operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate overhead cranes from remote desk, remote control, or crane cabin.
  • Operate crane in manual, semi-automatic, and automatic modes.
  • Monitor safety equipment and control access to crane working area.
  • Troubleshoot basic failures and assist maintenance for automatic cranes.
  • Perform minor repairs and adjustments.
  • Interact with HMI systems to identify equipment status, alarms, and setup operation modes.
  • Utilize Level 2 systems to monitor performance and identify improvement areas.
  • Maintain detailed records of actions, manual interactions and adjustments.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to process enhancements.
  • Ensure all work complies with industry safety standards and protocols.
