Job summary

Southlake Automation, Inc., a certified UL508A/UL698A HazLoc electrical controls engineer and panel manufacturer, is seeking an Automation Controls Technician in Merrillville, Indiana. You'll support panel production, enforce standards, and work with engineering to improve processes.

Responsibilities include enforcing UL standards, configuring PLCs, HMIs, and drives, documenting defects, and performing quarterly FANUC robot maintenance.

Qualifications

• Ability to read electrical drawings.
• Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and PLCs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 or equivalent.
• High energy, self-motivated, and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Understand and enforce UL508A and UL689 standards for industrial control panels.
• Perform quality control on control panels using a laptop for configuring PLCs, HMIs, and Drives.
• Document and track defects and provide feedback for training and improvement for the build team.
• Work with engineering to implement process improvement for more efficient panel builds.
• Perform quarterly maintenance for FANUC robots, including greasing, battery changes, and end-of-arm tool inspection.
• Production scheduling for control panel and personal assignments.
