Job summary

sstjobs seeks an Automation Controls Technician/Installer for a direct hire in Waterford, CT. The role involves installing conduit, low-voltage wiring, and BAS components, plus wiring sensors and actuators and reading drawings.

You will support startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and owner training. Applicants should have a Connecticut E2 or L6 license, 2–5 years of BAS or electrical install experience, and the ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings.

Qualifications

• Connecticut E2 or L6 license is required.
• High school diploma or technical certificate preferred.
• 2–5 years of BAS, controls, or electrical installation experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Install conduit, low-voltage wiring, and BAS control components.
• Mount, wire, label, and terminate sensors, relays, actuators, and other control devices.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Assist with system startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and owner training.
• Prepare as-built documentation.
• Coordinate work with other trades and attend project meetings as needed.
• Maintain required licenses and certifications.
• Follow all safety policies and use required PPE.
• Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members.
• Work independently and collaboratively to complete projects efficiently.
• Work overtime, varied shifts, and travel occasionally as needed.

Pay:$48 - $55 per hour (based on experience)

• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces.
