Job summary

Nucor Steel Brandenburg is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. The role will be hands‑on and interactive with the maintenance and production teams, focusing on safety, cost, and reliability in steel making.

You will learn automation/controls fundamentals, participate in maintenance projects, and gain exposure to preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, pneumatics, and power transmission.

Qualifications

Rising Junior or Senior.
Fundamental knowledge of automation and controls.
Willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Responsibilities

Learning automation/control and process fundamentals involved in steel making.
Maintenance/Engineering projects focused on safety, cost, and reliability.
Preventive & predictive maintenance programs and routines.
Routine maintenance and troubleshooting equipment and process related issues.
Learning and applying new skills in automation, controls, power transmission and pneumatics.
