Job summary

Lyten is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to support operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing equipment used in advanced battery cell production. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize electrical control systems, PLCs, robotics, and safety systems to ensure safe, reliable production.

The role requires Mitsubishi PLC experience, strong problem-solving, and ability to work with system integrators.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in industrial automation or electrical control systems.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and automated production equipment.
• Mitsubishi PLC is a MUST.
• Knowledge of NFPA 79, NFPA 70E, and Cal-OSHA safety standards.
• Ability to modify PLC programs or develop logic from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems using Siemens, AB, and Mitsubishi platforms.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to automation equipment, robotics, MMI, and networking.
• Interpret electrical schematics and drawings to support modifications.
• Assist startup, validation, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment.
• Partner with system integrators to deliver equipment meeting Lyten standards.
• Provide control code feedback from electrical and safety perspectives and drive implementation.
• Support installation, commissioning, and qualification of new tooling with integrators.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, throughput, and cost.
