Job summary

Materion is looking for an Automation Controls Engineer to design, fabricate, and program electrical control systems. You will work on installation, modifications, and repairs of equipment and machinery in a manufacturing environment.

Position

The Automation Controls Engineer will design, fabricate, program, install, modify, and repair all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.

Responsibilities
  • Develop electrical and controls system design solutions based on engineering principles.
  • Generate electrical schematics and documentation necessary to install and troubleshoot control systems and interface them to other system components.
  • Perform PLC/HMI/Automation Controller programming with emphasis on program reliability, safety, and ease of updated troubleshooting documentation.
  • Define scope documents for new and existing equipment from external providers.
  • Establish product acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design, including electrical requirements.
Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or demonstrated required capability as an Automation technician for 5 years.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma principles preferred.
