Job summary

HDR is seeking an Automation and Control Systems Applications Developer to design, program, test and commission control systems across large-scale building engineering projects in Montana. You will work on SCADA/PLC/HMI solutions and coordinate with design, construction and startup teams to ensure project success.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in process control, strong leadership, and documentation skills, plus the ability to thrive in HDR's employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years in process control system programming (SCADA/PLC/HMI/OITs).
• Excellent communication, leadership and planning skills; strong client presentations and reports.
• Active participant in employee-owned culture; local candidates preferred.
• Experience in water/wastewater facilities, Oil & Gas, Power, Mining, or industrial facilities a plus.
• Ability to develop and document standard engineering practices and provide detailed project completion documentation.

Responsibilities

• Programming the project control system (SCADA, PLC, HMI, Historian, Communications) as defined by scope.
• Manage project tasks within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Coordinate with Design, Construction and Start-up team leaders for project control system.
• Download, test, and document control system programs and communication systems as defined in scope.
• Participate in field testing and commissioning of the control system.
• Willingness to travel as necessary; travel duration and frequency depend on project needs.
