The Role and Your Impact

As an Automation and Controls Engineer, you'll work alongside talented cross-functional engineering and sales teams to bring our clients' game-changing solutions to life within customer facilities. You’ll bring the vision together and work with our dynamic team of engineers to refine the scope of work before diving in and executing. Your ability to speak to both shop floor workers and senior leaders will be crucial as you troubleshoot and support customer issues, ensuring smooth implementation and maximum results.

We're looking for a highly adaptive, fast-paced individual with a background in manufacturing and engineering, preferably within CPG. You'll have experience working with numerous types of PLCs, Robots, and software systems, making you an invaluable asset in the plant environment. Every week will bring new challenges as you visit different sites, collaborating with diverse teams to solve unique problems. Your ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple streams of activity will be essential.

Teamwork is at the heart of everything our client does. You'll interface with everyone on its team, building strong relationships and working together to achieve our goals. You'll also have the opportunity to travel, as 50% of the role involves domestic customer visits.

The Basics

  • PLC Programming:Proficiency in programming and configuring Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for industrial automation.
  • HMI (Human-Machine Interface) Design:Experience in designing user-friendly HMI interfaces for machine control and monitoring.
  • SCADA Systems:Knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for real-time process monitoring and control.
  • Instrumentation and Control Systems:Expertise in selecting, installing, and maintaining sensors, transmitters, and control systems.
  • Industrial Networking:Understanding of industrial networking protocols, such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, or Modbus.
  • PLC Troubleshooting:Ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to PLCs and automation systems.
  • Robotics and Motion Control:Familiarity with robotics, motion control, and robotics programming.
  • Knowledge of CPG Manufacturing Processes:Understanding of CPG manufacturing processes and how automation and controls integrate into these processes.
