Job summary

Overhead Door Corporation seeks an Automatic Door Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain door systems across Burlington, NJ. The role requires mechanical and electrical skills, a valid driver’s license, and safety-conscious service on customer sites.

Travel is required within the coverage area; you will diagnose issues, complete work orders, and collaborate with dispatch and parts teams to meet customer needs. AAADM certification must be obtained within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical and electrical skills required; troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and procedures; write basic reports; and communicate clearly with customers and team members.
• Able to perform basic math and read a tape measure.
• Valid driver’s license required; must obtain AAADM certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist and perform maintenance on door equipment including automatic doors, entrance doors, handles and closers.
• Learn to diagnose faulty equipment and identify cause of malfunction.
• Work with dispatch team and other departments.
• Ensure safe use of equipment and tools in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Complete work orders on computer-based documents according to procedures.
• Project a positive image when interacting with customers and colleagues.
• Communicate with parts and sales departments to meet customer needs; report issues promptly.
• Travel throughout coverage area during workday.
• Drive safely between service points; support safety programs on site and in warehouse.
• Perform duties in various environments and in inclement weather.

Automatic Door Service Technician – $26-36/hr – Burlington, NJ

We're looking for a motivated, customer-focused technician with experience in mechanical repair, electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, or related trades. In this field-service role, you'll travel to customer sites to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain door systems while delivering exceptional service and building lasting customer relationships. • Assist and perform maintenance efficiently and effectively on door equipment including automatic doors, entrance doors, handles and closers.
• Learn to diagnose faulty equipment and apply knowledge of functional operation of unit and systems to identify the extent and cause of malfunction.
• Work with dispatch team and other departments
• Understand the safe use of equipment and tools in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Completes work orders on computer-based documents according to established procedures
• Project a positive image when interacting customers, employees and management in a cooperative, supportive and courteous manner.
• Communicate and work with the parts and sales departments to ensure the customer’s needs are being met; immediately report any potential customer issues that need to be addressed and communicate positively and courteously with our customers.
• Travel throughout coverage area during workday.
• Drive safely and efficiently from point to point in service area.
• Proactively support our safety program and initiatives, comply with all safety policies and procedures and ensure utilization of safe work practices on site, in the warehouse and in the office.
• Performs work in a variety of customer environments including exposure to elements and in-climate weather.
• Performs all other duties assigned

• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to follow written, verbal, diagram, or schedule-based instructions
• Valid driver’s license required; must obtain AAADM certification (ANSI 156.10 & 156.19) within six months of hire

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of working at heights to service doors and operators using ladders
