Job summary

Austin Wood Recycling is hiring an Autoline General Laborer to join the production team. You will perform general clean‑up duties in the autoline area, transport debris, and assist with pallet repairs while maintaining safety and professionalism around customers and coworkers.

Expect a demanding schedule with potential overtime and outdoor work in all weather. A successful candidate will follow procedures, wear required safety gear, and contribute to a safe, efficient production environment.

Qualifications

• Must pass a drug screen.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and walk short distances.
• Must be able to work outside in all weather.
• Forklift/Spyder experience preferred.
• Bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform general clean‑up duties within the autoline production area.
• Safely transport swept debris to proper trash receptacles.
• Assist in repair of broken pallets (hammer & nail).
• Report all accidents and injuries.
• Follow standard operating procedures for general clean‑up duties.
• Wear safety gear at all times (safety toe shoes/boots, vest, hard hat, gloves).
• Work up to 60 hours per week, including Saturdays with overtime.

About the Position

We are looking for an Autoline General Laborer to join our growing team. This position reports to the Autoline Supervisor. Autoline General Laborers are assigned to “general clean‑up” duties within the autoline production. This position is required to follow the same production work schedule as assigned to Autoline Operators. We expect autoline general laborers to perform general clean‑up tasks in a safe and professional manner and to maintain a professional demeanor when engaging with customers and coworkers. A successful candidate will ensure that work is completed safely, on schedule and as directed. This is a great opportunity to grow your career and get recognized for your contributions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general clean‑up duties within the autoline production area, including sweeping mulch & soil debris around production lines and within the production building.
• Safely and efficiently transport swept debris to proper trash receptacles using wheelbarrow or portable hopper, along with any production supply trash (bags, strapping, other related debris).
• Assist in repair of broken pallets (hammer & nail to make repairs).
• Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and processes related to general clean‑up duties within the autoline production area.
• Wear required safety gear at all times (safety toe shoes/boots, vest, hard hat, & gloves).
• Assume other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by management.

Job Qualifications & Physical Requirements

• Ability to work +/- 60 hours per week, including Saturdays with overtime (hours not guaranteed).
• Forklift/Spyder experience preferred.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Must pass a drug screen.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk for short periods.
• Must be able to bend and stoop throughout the workday (lifting mulch/soil bags, trash debris, etc).
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs and ladders.
• Must be able to work outside for periods of time in all weather.
• Must be able to work in a dusty environment (tolerate various types of work dust).
