YO AI Labs is seeking an Autodesk Fusion 360 Specialist (Contractor) to contribute to an innovative project at the intersection of mechanical engineering and AI technology. You will create, review, and refine fully parametric CAD models and technical documentation. Remote work is supported.

Qualifications

  • Experience developing fully parametric 3D CAD models in Fusion 360.
  • Knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5 and design for manufacturability.
  • Strong documentation and cross‑functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop fully parametric 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and assemblies using Fusion 360.
  • Edit and update CAD models, preserving design intent and manufacturability.
  • Audit CAD models for dimensional accuracy and GD&T compliance.
  • Apply DFM across injection molding, sheet metal, CNC, casting/forging.
  • Support AI model development with accurate CAD data and decisions.
  • Communicate design rationale and engineering insights to teams.
  • Contribute to improvements in datasets and AI outputs.

Job Overview

We are seeking experienced Autodesk Fusion 360 Specialists to contribute their expertise to an innovative project at the intersection of mechanical engineering and emerging AI technology. In this role, you will help improve next-generation AI systems by creating, reviewing, and refining mechanical CAD models and technical documentation. No prior AI experience is required-your engineering and CAD expertise are what matter most.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop fully parametric 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and assemblies using Autodesk Fusion 360 based on detailed design requirements.
  • Edit and update existing CAD models while maintaining design intent, manufacturability, and compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Review and audit CAD models for dimensional accuracy, GD&T compliance, and overall design quality.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles across injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, casting, and forging processes.
  • Support AI model development by delivering accurate CAD data and documenting engineering decisions.
  • Communicate design rationale, technical feedback, and engineering insights to cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in engineering datasets and AI-generated outputs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive hands‑on experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 and other parametric CAD platforms such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or FreeCAD.
  • Practical application of GD&T (ASME Y14.5 or equivalent) in real‑world engineering projects.
  • Proven DFM experience across multiple manufacturing processes.
  • 4+ years of experience for CAD model editing and 10+ years for complex model creation.
  • Experience with assembly-level mechanical design.
  • Reverse engineering expertise, including Scan-to-CAD and point cloud conversion workflows.
  • Experience with CAD automation or scripting using Python, iLogic, NX Open, VBA, or similar tools
