Job summary

Safran Cabin Inc. is seeking an autoclave operator to prepare aircraft interior and structural parts using heat and pressure treatment.

You will load, connect, and run the autoclave, prioritizing loads for maximum usage and ensuring proper control settings. You will also perform routine inspections, verify pressure/temperature/vacuum, and document materials for traceability while adhering to work orders and instructions.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1 year stable work history preferred; aerospace bagging/layup experience preferred.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills; ability to read/write in English.

Job description

Job Summary:

Prepare aircraft interior and structural parts using autoclave to heat and pressure treat parts.

Summary of Duties:
  • Load, connect and run autoclave using manual and computerized controls.
  • Prioritize and organized loads for maximum autoclave usage.
  • Performs visual and manual integrity check of all wire connections.
  • Pushes racks of aerospace inside autoclave and clamps door shut.
  • Observes gauges and pneumatic controller graphs to ascertain that specified pressure, temperature, and vacuum are maintained to ensure conditioning of yarn according to specifications and to prevent collapse of autoclave.
  • Closes valves and starts vacuum pump to remove moisture at end of steaming chamber.
  • Opens door and removes processed parts from autoclave to storage.
  • Prioritize tool turns.
  • Adhere to detailed company specifications, work instructions, manufacturing orders, and work orders.
  • Document the materials used in the process to maintain traceability.
  • Troubleshoot basic issues.

  • Must carefully handle raw material and manufactured parts to ensure the integrity and quality is not compromised by handling.
  • Must have flexibility to work a varied work schedule when needed.

  • As business conditions change it is necessary that all employees productively react and handle other essential tasks as assigned now or in the future.
  • Tasks may vary slightly based on products produced at division.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
  • Experience: 1 (one) year stable work history preferred. Knowledge of bagging, layup and assembly in aerospace industry preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products.
  • Other Skills: Ability to communicate verbally as well as read and write in English.
  • Physical: Strength and ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor including frequent bending, walking and heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Forklift: Ability to become trained in forklift operation; previous experience a plus.
